Heat exhaustion

Thanks, Guardian, for your fast response to my wife's medical emergency.

My wife and I were in the garden planting flowers, and as the morning grew warmer, my wife realized she was feeling sick. We moved to the shade, where she fainted.

She revived and said she was OK, but I went ahead and pushed the medical alert button on the Guardian emergency key fob on my key chain (I have it because I have a heart condition).

I was afraid to leave her because she kept losing consciousness, but after spraying her head with cool water from the hose, I made it to the phone, called 911 and learned that the paramedics were already on their way. And in a minute or two, they arrived, along with the police. Without Guardian, it would have taken me much longer to get help.

The medics took her to the hospital where she was diagnosed with heat exhaustion and treated. I was so pleased by Guardian's prompt response, I called to thank them. And incidentally, the medics told me that spraying her with cold water was the best thing I could have done!
